Who was Nelson?

Horatio Nelson was the most famous Admiral in charge of the navy, ever.

He was born in Norfolk, at Burnham Thorpe. He lost an eye and an arm in sea battles and then was killed at the battle of Trafalgar - Trafalgar Square in London is named after the battle, and Nelson's statue stands at the top of the column. Great Yarmouth in Norfolk also has a Nelson's Column.

His body was brought back from the battle in a barrel of brandy to preserve him so that he could be buried in England. It's said that his crew drank from the barrel and toasted his memory on the way home...
